SRW-1
The
SRW-1 HD Portable Digital Video Recorder and SRPC-1 HD Video Processor
are the newest members of the CineAlta™ product lineup and form the first
Sony full-bandwidth 4:4:4 (RGB) portable VTR system adopting the HDCAM-SR
format. The SRW-1/SRPC-1 offers virtually lossless 1080-line high-definition
recordings at multiple frame rates on the HDCAM-SR tape media. The SRW-1/SRPC-1
connects to its companion HDCF950 portable camera via HD-SDI dual link
or optional optical fiber cable to create a convenient, portable full-bandwidth
4:4:4 (RGB) image capturing system. The SRW-1 can also be configured with
the HDWF900 HDCAM camcorder to record HD 4:2:2 component images. The SRPC-1
processor unit provides a variety of video-processing functions and houses
an array of input and output connectors, including HD/SD signals, 12 channels
of digital audio, and 4 channels of analog audio. The processing functions
include 2-3 pull-down insertions for 525 down conversion, and RGB 4:4:4
to Y/Pb/Pr 4:2:2 color space conversion. The system is capable of operating
in three recording modes. SQ (standard Quality) providing 440 Mbps video
payload to tape in both 4:4:4 or 4:2:2, HQ (High Quality) mode allowing
for 2x speed recording yielding 880 Mbps to tape with a 2:1 compression
ratio in full band RGB 4:4:4, and 3D mode where two separate 4:2:2 HD
SDI inputs can be recorded simultaneously to the same tape, providing
an efficient means of recording stereo full bandwidth 4:2:2 images for
3D productions. Each stereo channel is recorded at 440 Mbps with the benefits
of full error correction to both channels.

AJ-HD3700B
The
AJ-HD3700B meets all high quality HD and SD production requirements in
one VTR where quality is assured by full bandwidth (1920x1080) and 4:2:2
digital 10-bit component video in HD plus standard definition non-compressed
525i (NTSC) and 625i (PAL). Metadata recording and playback without sacrificing
audio channels and conversion between formats is as simple as an optional
plug-in card set. With a newly designed, easy-to-use front panel operation,
full editing capability and low power consumption, the AJ-HD3700B is designed
for integration into today's modern post and production facilities. The
AJ-HD3700B provides the flexibility of having a single machine function
in HD and SD plus the popular 1080/24p and 1080/24PsF.
The AJ-HD3700B features new time code and format conversion functionality
that includes; conversion from 24 frames to 30 frames progressive time
code as well as the ability to display the original 25 frame time code
output when playing back footage in 24 frame mode; and in addition, new
output filters significantly enhances the user's ability to control down
converted output quality for such applications as DVD mastering and standard
definition masters for TV distribution. With its multiple HD format capability,
the AJ-HD3700B is particularly suited for mastering in mobile trucks and
OB vans. Now it's possible to have both 1080i and 720p recording on board
without having different VTRS for each format. And of course, down-conversion
to standard definition can take place right in the AJ-HD3700B.
Designed with HD Cinema in mind, the AJ-HD3700B with the format converter
card built-in combines all the functionality of many VTRs into a single
system. As part of the telecine system, this powerful VTR provides superior
picture quality with full resolution recording and playback, and the multiple
frame rates means mastering in one format and outputting in another. Frame
rate conversion, audio and time code conversions are easily handled inside
the machine and are always in time regardless of the format conversion.
A colorimetry conversion function corrects color gamut differences resulting
from HD/SD conversion. Eight discrete channels of audio with Dolby-E capability
are ideal for surround sound, stereo, and SAP programming.
Teamed with DVCPROHD, the AJ-HD3700B is the ultimate High Definition mastering
VTR. From the original recorded resolution through multiple generations,
the AJ-HD3700B is the ideal editing environment where the highest picture
quality must be maintained throughout the editing process. The superb
quality of the newest un-compressed NLE systems is assured by mastering
on the AJ-HD3700B. With multiple frame rates, multiple formats, and multiple
standards plus 8-channel of audio, built-in metadata capability, analog
audio I/O, and built-in format conversion, it's no wonder the AJ-HD3700B
has been chosen by so many production/post-production facilities. The
AJ-HD3700B is a true Mastering VTR designed from the ground up to support
Standard Definition video, HD Cinema mastering and support for digital
projection and DVD distribution.
